Purpose of the Photoshoot: To explore the boundary between nudity and concealment, between physicality and texture. The project plays with themes of vulnerability, protection, and visual provocation through the use of unconventional materials and lighting.
Concept: A semi-nude female figure. Intimate areas are delicately covered either with a hand fan or a translucent dress made from bubble wrap. The contrast between the softness of the body and the industrial plastic material creates visual tension between fragility and artificial protection. The overall atmosphere is playful, with a touch of surrealism and theatricality.
Location: A studio space with a neutral setup, customized for working with colored lighting and background gradients.
Lighting & Technique: Two primary light sources were used to illuminate the background with yellow and blue color filters. The resulting gradient adds depth and highlights the textures of the bubble wrap and skin. The shoot was captured using a full-frame camera with a 80mm lens to emphasize detail and intimacy.
Model & Styling: The model’s hair is styled with oversized curlers — a visual nod to domestic aesthetics and 1960s beauty culture. The look blends sensuality with irony. The use of a packaging material as a garment and a classic fan as a cover is a deliberate artistic choice, balancing protection and exposure.
Result: A curated series of 6–10 artistic photographs selected for personal and exhibition portfolios. The project showcases creative use of unconventional textures, color lighting, and subtle body expression.
