Purpose of the Photoshoot: To create a visually expressive image that blends irony, theatricality, and contrast between natural and artificial elements. The project explores texture, symbolism, and lighting within a contemporary artistic context.
Concept: The model holds either a decorative hand fan or a large burdock leaf as symbolic and stylistic elements. The look is complemented by a translucent dress made from bubble wrap, adding a layer of irony and emphasizing the visual play with unconventional materials. The visual language balances between playful absurdity and artistic provocation.
Location: A minimalist studio space prepared for working with complex lighting and a controlled color environment.
Lighting & Technique: Four light sources were used: two to illuminate the background with yellow and blue filters, creating a soft but expressive gradient; and two key lights focused on the model to shape the form and enhance textures. The shoot was done with a full-frame camera and a 50mm lens to achieve cinematic depth and softness.
Styling: The fan, the burdock leaf, and the bubble wrap dress function as strong visual markers that shape the mood of the shoot and define its artistic character. The styling emphasizes minimalism, contrast, and playful symbolism.
Result: A curated series of 6–10 artistic photographs selected for portfolio, exhibition, or publication. The project demonstrates confident studio lighting work, attention to detail, thoughtful styling, and an original visual narrative.
